The American Association for Justice Promotes a Fair Judicial System

Justino Garcia, an experienced attorney based in New York City, specializes in adoption law. An active professional, Justino Garcia is a member of several law-related organizations, including the American Association for Justice (AAJ).

Founded by nine attorneys in 1946, the AAJ is a nonprofit organization committed to preserving a fair criminal justice system by working in support of plaintiff’s attorneys and their efforts to protect the rights of their clients. Formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the AAJ has undergone several name changes since its founding, but its mission to safeguard victims’ rights and to work as an advocate for injured persons has always remained at the heart of the organization.

After the attacks on September 11th, 2001, the AAJ responded by forming Trial Lawyers Care, an initiative that provided pro bono legal services to families seeking assistance through a newly created federal fund for victims of the attack. Through the initiative, over 1,100 attorneys from around the world volunteered their services and provided representation to more than 1,700 families. Today, Trial Lawyers Care continues to partner with nonprofit and charitable organizations as well as individuals across the country on a variety of pro bono, community outreach, and disaster relief projects.
